Vinod Khanna was born on October 6, 1946. Square-jawed, big boned, with eyes that made women go weak whenever he showed up on screen, Khanna was one of the biggest stars of the 1970s and 1980s.

As we know that 22-year old Khanna made his big screen debut as a villain, in Sunil Dutt’s Man ka Meet. but Mere Apne in 1971 gave him his big break, leading to a number of lead roles. By the mid-70s, he gave so many hits in a row like- Parvarish, Khoon Pasina, Amar Akbar Anthony and Qurbani.

But after some time, Khanna surprised a fair number of people by turning to politics. His sons Akshaye and Rahul had pretty much taken to cinema to ensure the family connection with Bollywood.

Today, the veteran star is back on TV, in a serial by Smriti Irani no less. It maybe safe to a return to the big screen too.
